Kissinger Sommer has long established itself as a world-class festival of international standing, with symphonic and chamber concerts at its heart. The magnificent spa gardens and the Max Littmann Hall, renowned for its exceptional acoustics, add to the experience.

For the opening concert, audiences can look forward to Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, which he founded more than 40 years ago. Schumann’s spirited Third Symphony reflects a rare period of happiness in the composer’s life, while Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 is marked by melancholy. Pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja brings depth and intellectual clarity, while Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes draws on Jewish musical tradition.
